5 Reasons Premium Credit Cards Are Getting Harder to Maximize

1. Lounge Access Is Getting More Restricted
American Express and Capital One have tightened rules around bringing guests into airport lounges.
Amex now requires guests to be traveling on the same flight as the cardholder in certain circumstances, while Capital One charges Venture X cardholders $45 for an adult guest unless they meet a $75,000 annual spending threshold.
2. Statement Credits Come With More Conditions
Credits that once felt simple can now require specific purchases, minimum spending or enrollment.
